Step by step
- Check in each morningRate four zones on a five-point scale. Drena turns this into a Morning Score from 0 to 100.
- Tag the evening beforeChoose from salty meal, alcohol, short sleep, sat all day, flight, heat, cycle phase, carb-heavy day, hard workout, stress or crying.
- Wait for enough daysThe trigger map needs 14 days of history and at least eight mornings with and without a trigger.
- Read the mapTriggers are ranked worst-first. An effect under 3 points is shown as no clear effect.
- Run a drainage routine when you need itPick a routine for the occasion: morning, before a flight, cycle days, after a salty day, wind-down or quick fix.

Drena vs other apps
Competitor details are taken from their public App Store listings (US storefront, October 2026) and change often; check the listing before you decide. Drena does not use your camera or any AI face scan.
| App | Price | Good at | Limits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Drena | Free to download; free trial of Drena Pro, prices shown in the app | Daily Morning Score across four zones, personal trigger map, 3 day-by-day programs (7-day de-puff, 14-day gua sha, 21-day face yoga), 26 drawn routines with the stroke direction shown | Check-ins and programs need Drena Pro; no AI photo analysis; iPhone only |
| FaceYogi | Free to download; the listing states $9.99 per week or $49.99 per quarter (US App Store, Oct 2026) | Large user base (about 16,000 ratings, 4.8 average in the US store, Oct 2026), a personalised 7-day face yoga program, about 8 minutes a day | Built around face yoga courses; its listing does not describe a daily puffiness score or a trigger analysis |
| Luvly | Free to download; the listing states $19.99 for 1 month with a 3-day trial and $29.99 for 3 months (US App Store, Oct 2026) | 100+ face yoga exercises and massages, 15-minute daily rituals, content reviewed by a face yoga specialist, about 20,000 ratings (4.6 average) | A broad face yoga and skincare library rather than a puffiness tracker; no per-morning measurement in its listing |
| Depuff AI | Free to download; subscription terms are in the App Store listing | Analyses daily face photos for bloating patterns and scans meal photos; about 15,000 ratings (4.8 average) | Relies on AI photo analysis, which Drena deliberately does not do: Drena asks you to rate your own mornings |
Frequently asked questions
What does the Morning Score measure?
How puffy you woke up, self-reported across four zones. It is daily and not cumulative.
Why five steps instead of a slider?
People cannot honestly resolve more than that about their own face, and a slider would add false precision.
Is this AI?
No. The trigger map is a plain comparison of averages, deliberately, because 20 to 60 self-reported days cannot support a fitted model.
Does it connect to Apple Health?
Read-only, and only for weight and workouts.
Does Drena track bloating from food photos?
No. There is no food scanner and no camera analysis. You tag what happened.
What if my result is unclear?
Drena says so. Small effects are reported as no clear effect.
Is it a medical device?
No. If swelling is sudden, one-sided or painful, see a doctor.
